Gabriel is a University of Kentucky alumnus, having graduated with a bachelor's in Agricultural Economics and a minor in International Business. He has worked as a summer fellow with the Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky (CEDIK), and as an undergraduate researcher in the University of Kentucky's Department of Entomology

His current role with the Center for Crop Diversification is as extension associate in conjunction with the Southeast Dairy Business Innovation Initiative and MarketReady programs.

In his personal life, he is often with his beagle, Penny, and playing soccer or piano.
